Dear Diverse Holliston members,
Every day we each must make the decision of how much of the news media we consume and for what purpose. As many of us wrestle with feelings of powerlessness and despair, we may ask ourselves is it better to just stop watching? And then perhaps we feel guilty for hiding, so we watch again, only to find it yet again unbearable. Many of us may have abandoned this cycle months ago, and are succumbing to numbness.
And yet. Whether you know the specifics or not, we all know this moment requires each of us to remain steadfast in what we are fighting for. The forces we are resisting have designed this moment to paralyze us with fear and inaction. None of us is responsible for fighting everything, but we all must do something.
Ask yourself, what are my skills? What is my capacity? What will fill me up? We will make the most impact on the local level and there are dozens of ways to help. Please check out our website to find out how you can get involved. Here are some specific opportunities:
